HISTORY

Our organization started with a few individuals who wanted to give back.

Originally named IMPACT, the team felt like this reflected that goal.

However, as we evolved we realized we wanted to do more than

make a change in the lives of those who need help.

We didn't just want to come in and impact their lives,

we wanted to empower them to change their lives.

We saw the passion that was felt by each individual we worked with

as our organization grew, so we knew it was time for a change.

And so, CHARGE: Co-Creating was born.

With that comes the exciting opportunity for everyone to get involved,

come together, and charge up their lives and those of others.

THE GENESIS OF DR. MILLER'S VISION

Dr. Scott Miller established a microfinance initiative in South Central Los Angeles that aimed to alleviate the financial struggles experienced by those in his community. However, he realized that financial aid alone would not be enough to break the cycle of generational poverty. By pairing financial assistance with human and intellectual resources, these underserved areas were given a more robust and comprehensive platform for development.

IMPACT IS BORN

Scott founded version 2.0 of the program, Innovative Microfinance Promoting Ambition and Cultivating Talent (IMPACT). IMPACT is uniquely positioned to deliver the needs of underserved entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs work closely with leading experts of industry and high-performing business students at the University of Tampa to identify problems and find creative solutions to those problems.

TAKING CHARGE

Introducing CHARGE: Co-Creating, formerly known as IMPACT. Our aim is to inspire individuals to take control of their lives, careers, and communities. This rebranding emphasizes the message that everyone involved has something to offer and can benefit from the process. Regardless of your personal journey, CHARGE can assist you in taking charge and achieving your goals.
